Hidden away in the countryside of Ishinomaki stands a small shrine called Ichikishima Shrine.
It’s a place I’ve loved for many years, and I’ve been visiting this little sanctuary for nearly two decades.
On a clear day in April 2026, during the shrine’s annual festival day — a special “hare” day in Japanese tradition — cherry blossoms(sakura) colored the arrival of spring.
I’ve always loved the atmosphere of this place.
