Shijima Hikarite is a serene collaboration between ambient musicians kita kouhei and Yukihiko Yotsukura (an Ishinomaki-based artist deeply rooted in Japanese folk traditions).

Capturing the profound stillness and dignified air of a Japanese winter, the album explores the aesthetic of "Ma" (the beauty of space). It weaves a delicate tapestry of acoustic and environmental sounds: the water-like tones of the ArrayMbira, warm wooden tongue drums, and organic percussion by Kita, harmonized with Yotsukura’s ethereal Shinobue (bamboo flute), Kantele, and evocative field recordings.

A truly tranquil, quintessential Japanese ambient experience that bridges traditional sensibilities with modern minimalism.
