"Threshold 01–04: mado-beya edition" (2025)
There are many kinds of boundaries between people, things, and phenomena—
and often, there exists a subtle yet perceptible threshold where these boundaries meet.
The threshold is neither one side nor the other; it is an ambiguous zone,
a space where differences intersect, overlap, and sometimes blend together.
Even in daily life, if we pay close attention, we find such thresholds all around us.
This exhibition presents the early works from the ongoing Threshold series,
which explores these liminal spaces through sound—
this particular version is curated as the mado-beya edition.
You may choose to focus intently on the sounds themselves,
or allow them to blend with the ambient noises drifting in from outside the window.
There is no right or wrong way to listen.
We hope you'll experience these sonic thresholds in your own way,
as if leaning into the borderlands of hearing itself.
